This original watercolor illustration of a rustic still life invites you to a cozy homely scene: freshly baked bread on a blue ceramic plate with an antique silver spoon, a bouquet of delphiniums in a pitcher and a farmhouse chandelier.

The Magic

Painted on handmade oatmeal-colored acid-free deckle edge cotton paper with plant fiber particles using artist grade pigments in a limited blue-brown color palette.

The Story

Delphiniums are one of my absolute favorites despite my being flower-obsessed. In general my art is quite colorful - even when the palette is soft, I tend to use all the hues in a rainbow, but I challenged myself to paint  this cozy scene in a limited palette.

This is an original painting - 1 of 1 - not a print. Signed by the artist.

The painting measures roughly 8" x 11" (20 x 28 cm) and will be mailed sealed in a cello sleeve (for moisture protection) with padding in a rigid envelope. Please note that size may vary within 1/4 inch due to the handmade nature of the paper.

All artwork ships from Massachusetts, USA within 2 business days. Delivery time varies depending on the destination.

Frame is not included. Storing in direct sunlight is not recommended (like any original artwork).

Framing suggestion

Deckle edge adds unique rustic charm to the artwork. You can put the painting in a larger frame with a sheet of color paper underneath thus highlighting the unique edge, or frame to size for a crisp look.
